Blog migration.

Moving blogs again. I had a concerns with blogger when I first started using it (I was torn between the simplicity and networking capabilities of Tumblr and the back-end/stability of Blogger) - I went with blogger because it seems safe, and I'd used it before.

To be honest, its a pain to use with the new interface. I don't like change very much at all, and it doesn't suit me, or my needs. If I wanted to write a lot, it'd be great, but for posting images it seems kinda slow and clunky now.

So I've moved over to http://dmqk.tumblr.com/ where I'm posting more stuff. It also doesn't seem like a big deal just posting images there because it's so picture-centric.

SO if you have a Tumblr account, please do follow me, reblog me, or like my posts because it's flattering and helps others to see my crap. I'll probably repost stuff I've posted here (and on earlier blogs/websites I've had) because it's got a nice gallery format where it's less a diary of work updates and just a pile of stuff by me.

USS Spaceship Poster

HELLO!!! It's very late (or early?) and I should've been in bed hours ago but I was just polishing this up to put online. Like Bon Jovi said "I'll sleep when I'm dead." which is preposterous because you do nothing when you're dead!!

It's my same old rehashed USS Spaceship characters! Look at them.. slightly redesigned again, in poses based on Star Wars/Last Starfighter posters! I managed to design a spaceship that I don't completely hate for the first time too. Which is nice since the whole thing is named 'uss spaceship' and it's one of the characters...

In other news I've been tumbloging/tumblrbloging/blumblurging/tumblumblarhging over at Metal Band Photos - posting dumb metal band pictures and writing snappy* captions. It's both an exercise in testing tumblr (which so far is moderately impressive in its ability to attract followers - I already have 8 strangers reading my crap after 4 days!) and writing 'insulting jokes'.

* nowhere near Al Jaffee level of snappiness.

Was just going through some old junk and found this little guy from an abandoned XNA game. Figured he'd never see the light of day otherwise so HERE HE IS. A rare bit of (shoddy) animation by me.

First comic page I've drawn in almost 10 years.

Well it's the first comic page I've started and finished probably since I was in university. I've been meaning to do a comic for a few years now but always get bogged down in the minutiae of it. This time I set myself a goal "one page comic" - and I have conquered it! 

Note: please note (?) that my goal didn't include good art, good story, good dialogue or good jokes.

READY PLAYER ONE fan art

I finished reading Ernest Cline's READY PLAYER ONE yesterday and loved it so much I decided to do a piece of fan art - or fart as I like it call it. The novel is highly recommended! I was glad to hear a friend of mine has picked up a copy based on my recommendation, I hope that you all follow his lead (and from now on listen to all my recommendations and do exactly as I tell you.) 

Also: Apologies, Mr Cline, if I totally misinterpreted (or tarnished/ruined/defiled) your characters.
